Larry Wayne Begley, 59, Nickelsville, VA went home to be with the angles on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Larry was born in Scott County, VA on March 19, 1956 to the late Arthur and Maggie Begley.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Louise and Sue preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Begley, Nickelsville, VA; son, Joey Begley, Kingsport, TN; step son, Marty Sexton, Coeburn; step daughter, Amanda Dorton, Nickelsville, VA; sisters, Jan, MN and Ada Dingus, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers, Lester Begley, Ft. Blackmore , VA, Gilbert Begley, Gate City, VA, Jerry Begley, Clinchport, VA, Lennis Begley, Big Stone Gap, VA, Perry Begley, GA, Sidney Begley, MN, and Steve Begley, FL; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; very special friend, Connie (Peanut) Ramsey; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Darnell and Rev. Raymond Summey officiating. Peanut Ramsey will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Sexton-Begley Cemetery, Flatwoods, VA. Close family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family wishes to thank Wellmont Holston Valley doctors and staff on ICU and Wilcox; Dr. DaSilva and staff at Hematology/Oncology, Kingsport, TN; Dr. Kumai and nurses at Norton; Dr. Rheinheart and nurses at Johnston Memorial Diabetic Center, Abingdon for their care of Larry.
