Rodney Earl Barnette, 83, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, June 27, 2016 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA.
Rodney was born in Wise County, VA on May 27, 1933 and was the son of the late James Claude (J.C.) and Cosby (Lane) Barnette.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Continental Steel.
In addition to his parents, his granddaughter; five brothers; and two sisters preceded him in death.
His survivors include his wife, Wilma Barnette, Duffield, VA; one son and two daughters, all of Kokomo, IN; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Venus Vincent, Duffield, VA and Wilma Jo Jolly, Pearl, MS; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Vincent and Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Adams Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
