Beverly Barnette

Beverly Ann Barnette of Fort Blackmore, VA in the loving arms of her daughter and surrounded by her Family went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 5, 2016. She was born on March 19th, 1951 to the late Clyde and Mary Belle Salling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Summey; Brother-in-laws, Paul Cruby, Junior Summey, Jerry Wolf, Cecil Arrington, Hubert Brock, and Wayne Hill; nephews, Michael Bledsoe, Billy Salling, Bobby Salling, and Danny Summey.
Surviving is her daughter, Brittany Barnette and fiance Kenneth Riddle, Fort Blackmore, VA; grandson, Jayden Barnette, Fort Blackmore, and husband of 44 years, Freddie Mark Barnette, Fort Blackmore, VA; sisters, Bobbie Cruby, Betty and husband Robert Bledsoe, Fort Blackmore, VA, Blanche Wolf, Fort Blackmore, VA, Brenda and husband Phillip Mann, Fort Blackmore, VA, Belinda (Carol) Hill, Fort Blackmore, VA Beatrice and husband Kenneth Lane, Fort Blackmore, VA, Berniece and husband Howard Arrington, Bethel Brock of East Carters Valley; brothers, Bill and wife Bonnie Salling, Fort Blackmore, VA and Buford and wife Brenda Salling, Fort Blackmore, VA; special nieces, Rebecca Quillen ,Jodi Sanders, and Angela Baker; special nephew Billy Wayne Arrington; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday May 8, 2016 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Wood Riverview Baptist Church. Calling hours will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday May 9, 2016 at Gate City Funeral Home, with services being conducted at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home with the music provided by Billy Wayne and the Tattered Saints. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 10, 2016 with the family meeting at the Salling-Grizzle Cemetery, Fort Blackmore, VA, music will be provided by Mickey and Nikki Summey. Ronnie Bledsoe, James Salling, Johnny Mann, Jeff Mann, Dan Calton, Shannon Arrington, Jerry Wolf, and Ronnie Hunt will serve as pallbearers. Michael Calton, Scott Hill, Robert Bledsoe, Jeff Hunt, Anthony Mann, Howard Arrington, Gerald Arrington, and Dwayne Salling will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Fox, Dr. Jones, and Dr. Harris along with the amazing staff at Holston Valley Medical Center.
