Eugene "Chico" Baldwin

Edward Eugene "Chico" Baldwin, 49, passed away March 24, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side after a brief illness with cancer.
Chico was a lifelong resident of the Duffield area. He attended Rye Cove High School and was of the Baptist faith. He was a long time employee with the Town of Gate City before becoming disabled. He loved working in the garden, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Bloomer Baldwin; his parents, Elmer and Allie Williams Baldwin and a brother-in-law, Grady Owens.
He is survived by his "baby" girl, Amanda Flores, Duffield, VA; mother-in-law, Ella Mae Bloomer, Duffield, VA; brother, Dennis Baldwin, Duffield, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kassie Brown, Gate City, VA, Terry and Linda Turner, Duffield, VA, Jack and Shirley Begley, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Kennie and Lisa Adams, Blackwater, VA; nieces and nephews, Tyler Brown, Nick Owens, Nikki Lawson, Madison Owens, Chelsey and Dwayne Frantz, Ronnie Jr., and Jessica Herron, Trista and Dennis Hensley, Skyler and Hunter Hensley, Andy and Sandy Begley, Stacy and Tim Adams, Lakin, Sierra and Kaylee Adams, Travis and Lisa Begley, Addison and Emma Begley, Jesse Begley, Heather and Kevin Osborne, Rashelle and Ryan Osborne, Amanda Adams, Shenna Adams, Alayna Adams and Rachel Baldwin; a host of many good friends whom he loved.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Gate City Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating.
