Ronnie Paul Baker, 57, Duffield, VA passed away, Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Medical Center.
Ronnie was born in Appalachia, VA on July 27, 1955 to Virginia Alice Bowen Baker and the late James Monroe Baker, Jr.
In addition to his mother, Virginia Alice Bowen Baker, he is survived by his brother, Gary Baker and wife, Sue Tate Baker, Big Stone Gap, VA; nephew, Jessee Baker and wife, Destiny, Big Stone Gap, VA; great niece, Kyleigh Shinpaugh, Big Stone Gap, VA; great nephew, Jackson Creed Baker, Big Stone Gap, VA; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Lonnie Townsend officiating. Kaylor's Chapel Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Baker Cemetery, Cliff Mountain Way, Scott County, VA. Jessee Baker and family and friends will serve as pallbearers. His great nephew, Jackson Baker will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Ronnie's name to the Shriners Children's Hospital Greenville at SHC-Greenville,SC Attn: Development 950 West Faris Rd , Greenville, Sc 29605.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Ridgecrest Manor in Duffield for their love and care of Ronnie.
