Ann Russell Mitchell

Ann Russell (Mamaw) Mitchell – Duffield, VA Ann Russell (Mamaw) Mitchell, 78, Duffield, VA went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Ann was born on October 14, 1946, in Sanford, NC, to the late Frances Absher.

In addition to her parents her husband, Edwin “Wayne” Mitchell; and sons, Jeffery, Timothy, and Quintin Dunlap preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Davis, Deborah Meade (Bryan), and Brad Dunlap; grandchildren, Kristin Christian, Jarrad Carter, Logan Dunlap, Zackary Dunlap, Haley Meade; and special niece Rita Townsend.

Ann’s wishes were to be cremated; a celebration of life will be conducted at a later date. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kliesch and nurses of HMG for their love and support for Ann.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home to aid with funeral expenses.
