Linda Michelle Addington, 49, of Midway community passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2017 after a brief illness.
Michelle was born in Sullivan Co., TN on October 26, 1967 to the late Curtis and Violet McConnell Addington.
She was a 1987 graduate of Twin Springs High School and was self-employed. Michelle enjoyed growing flowers in the summer and tending her home’s landscape. She loved shopping, especially finding great bargains. She was a devoted caregiver for her Mother for several years.
In addition to her parents, her nephew, Matthew Addington also preceded her in death.
Michelle is survived by her fiancé, Jeff Mann, Dungannon, VA; special brother, Ernie Addington and wife, Helen, Gate City, VA; nephew, Gabriel Addington, Gate City, VA and special cousin, Amy Addington, Bluffton, IN. Extended family, Lucy Mann, Dungannon, Wayne, Teresa and Jordan Sluss, Nickelsville, VA; special friends, Sherri Dickenson, Greenville, TN, Glenda and Stanley Byrd, Gray, TN, Robin Hillman, Yuma, VA, Austin Moody, Nashville, TN and fur babies, Snickers, Sapoto, and Pippa.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Gate City Funeral Home or anytime at the residence of Ernie and Helen Addington or Wayne and Teresa Sluss. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Joe Barber officiating. Austin Moody will provide music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Midway Community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m.to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Holston Valley Medical Center Radiology Department, Wellmont Cancer Institute of Johnson City and Pallative Care of Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
