Elsie Vivian Adams, 76, entered into rest Monday, April 13, 2009 at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Lee County, VA to the late Charles Leonard Parsons and Ella Adaline Campbell Parsons. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Adams; son, William George Adams and infant son, Otto, Jr., and one brother, Wayne Parsons.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Gene Adams and wife, Lisa, Gate City, VA, Jimmy Lee and wife, Jean, Duffield, VA, Kelly Wayne and wife, Charnita, Duffield, VA, Tony Adams and wife, Deborah, Kingsport, TN; sisters, June Early and husband, Ellis, Stickleyville, VA, Nina Vaughn and husband, Gene, Dayton, OH, Lucille Lease, Sykesville, MD; brothers, Bill Parsons and wife, Lois, Kingsport, TN, Don Parsons and wife, Della, Kingsport, TN, Echol Parsons and wife, Deloris, Pennington Gap, VA, Hershel Parsons and wife, Phyllis, Stickleyville, VA, Ronald Parsons and wife, Brenda, Leesburg, VA; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren; twenty-one nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her sons. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Legg Cemetery, Blackwater, VA.
The family will meet at 12 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
